Resmondo makes it two championships in a row

The early season nod
in men’s major play has got to go to
Resmondo Sod/Specialty Tank (
Normally no one
feels too sorry for a loaded team like Resmondo, but they went an amazing 8-1
in this one, and had to finish the tournament with ten players.
Finishing third was
Columbus Pipe (Ohio), but had to feel pretty good about themselves in view of
the fact the knocked off Resmondo early in the event, sending the ‘Sodbusters’ to
the losers bracket.

Spring rains have
been nothing short of a disaster for state high school teams who have seen
numerous league and tournaments washed out early in 2008. Among some of the top
fastpitch tournaments in the state that were forced to cancel include:

pitch, the Golden Gopher women’s team enters the Big Ten tournament this
weekend, as the No. 4 seed, and will take on Purdue on May 8 at
