Newman to offer fielding, running tips at Expo

Former Minnesota Twins infielder and World Series winner Al Newman has joined the Aflac Kids Program as their Special Program Director. The Aflac Kids Program provides funds for parents and communities through their unique fund-raising programs.

Newman will be appearing both days at the Let’s Play Baseball/Softball Expo on Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15. On Saturday, the fan-friendly Newman will be in the Aflac Kids Program booth at the Expo signing autographs and visiting with fans.

On the Sunday of the Expo, Newman will be conducting a clinic on infield play and baserunning from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Many fans will remember Al Newman as the energetic Twins third base coach for many seasons during the 1990’s and into the new decade.

The Aflac Kids Program began in Minnesota and has helped many families and community youth organizations raise funds to help offset the costs for equipment and tournaments.  Additional proceeds from these efforts support the Aflac Cancer Center where 11,000 kids per year are treated for cancer, supported by Aflac.

As part of the fund raising efforts, youth baseball organizations have the opportunity to benefit from the Saints Spotlight Game Series where they bring the pro baseball atmosphere to youth baseball fields. It’s an unbelievable fun time that everyone enjoys

Stop by the Aflac booth at the Let’s Play Baseball/Softball booth for more details on how you can participate in the Aflac Kids Program.
