North St. Paul H.S. coach Hall to host bunting clinic at Expo

  

Sean Hall will host a bunting clinic from 11 to noon on Sunday, April 15, at the Let’s Play Softball/Baseball Expo at Canterbury Park in Shakopee.

Hall has been coaching fastpitch softball for 19 years. He coached in the Stillwater Traveling and Junior High programs for 14 years coaching at 14U, 16U and as a coach at Oakland and Stillwater Junior High.

In 2001, Hall went to Saint Bernard’s High School in St. Paul to be the varsity head coach. In 2002, Hall helped the Bulldogs capture the 2002 MSHSL Class A state championship, as well as first place in the Tri-Metro Conference.

In 2003, Hall was awarded the varsity position at North St. Paul H.S. During the last four years, Hall has guided North to three conference championships and three state tournament appearances. In 2004, the Polars finished second, in 2005 they won consolation and in 2006 they finished in sixth place.

He has also been fortunate enough to have been selected to coach in the Minnesota Coaches Association Senior All-Star Series in 2003, 2005 and 2006.

In 2006, Hall started the Minnesota Sting Club Softball Program. Hall’s Minnesota Sting 1987-born team won the 18U Minnesota ASA/MSF State Tournament and then went to ASA 18U A Nationals in Owensboro, Kent., and finished 25th out of 154 teams and earned a spot in the 2007 Hall of Fame Tournament in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Hall also went to Olathe, Kansas, to coach the Sting 91 softball team in the 14U AFA A National Tournament. That team finished tied for fifth out of 62 teams.

Hall has coached a total of 137 teams in softball, soccer and basketball. He currently is the head softball coach at North St. Paul H.S. and JV girls’ basketball coach and B-Squad girls soccer coach. He also is President of the Minnesota Sting and head coach of the 18U Team. The Sting has grown from three to five teams in one year.
